"Thinking back to when I was in Elementary school, Art class was always one of my favorite classes to be in. I think it was because we had such a fun, laid back, creative, silly and talented teacher. I just knew that when I had a chance, I wanted to be an Art helper. Mrs. Jenkins let us be as creative as we wanted and allowed our imagination and hidden talents to come out, all while learning the basic fundamentals of Art. When you have a teacher who is fun and who listens to their students it makes for a super fun class. Even years later, going into a career that requires a lot of creativity, (cosmetologist), it makes me think back to where it all started. Having the ability to create beautiful nail art, and hair colors as well as styles gives me opportunity to open up and work with clients who trust me to use their hands and hair as a canvas to create a look that finds what they are looking for. Art is all around us. It is used in so many ways. Mrs. Jenkins has supported me over the years with my business so I know hers will grow because her love for Art is like no other !! -  Joyce Buck, (former student)

I have known Ms. Marilyn for about eight years. She taught my grandchildren and became a friend. She is so very thoughtful, caring, intuitive and just wonderful. She's not looking for perfection in her students but rather their interests and feelings. her artistic projection couples itself with her students and therefore brings forth the love of ART" - Cindy Petroski

" Marilyn is a passionate and expressive painter, drawing from her deep well of emotion. Her paintings and bold use of color are evocative, dreamlike and wholly personal. Marilyn is an experienced and exceptional teacher who sees the beauty of the world around her in a unique way." - Shawn Lockhart. (Artist)

" I first met Marilyn Jenkins in 1989. As director of The Carroll County Arts Council, I awarded her one of two College/continuing education Scholarships for graduating Seniors. Several years later, we taught together at Robert Moton Elementary School. The students loved Art and their Art teacher, Mrs. Jenkins.

Her lessons were varied and creative. Each child was able to participate and grow artistically in her classroom." - Margaret M. Slater - Library/Media specialist and former Director of the Carroll County Arts Council

" Marilyn was, and still is the most caring teacher we've met !!"- Jackie Brown (Parent)

"Marilyn is a fun, positive and inspirational instructor.  She is loved by her students" - Cara Richard (parent)

" Jenkins does these kinds of art projects with all of her students. She leads Kindergarten-ers head on into art, talking about famous artists, their techniques and concepts. She always incorporates a hands on art project into her lessons." - Jordan Bartel, Carroll County Times

"I have lived in many states and known artists whose works have hung in major art institutions such as The Whitney Museum and The Chicago Art Museum. Marilyn is one of those at the top of that select group of artists."

" As an art teacher she taps into the creative side of a child to get them excited about art, it's history and the process of expressing their creativity through a wide variety of mediums." - Bonnie Baber, Educator/Artist
